This family of floor lamps proposes an interchangeable lighting solution attached to a marble block. The exercise is an attempt to provide minimal support for the linear lighting elements through the simple gesture of touching the marble base with an invisible magnetic connection. The result is a distilled composition of basic elements.
Relay evolved from the development of a custom linear LED bulb, an advanced re-design of the standard linear signature tube that the designer has been using since the creation of his brand in 2007. Each bulb is hand-built using an opaline borosilicate tube and illuminated using a smart arrangement of LEDs that emanate a warm, all-round illumination. The bulb is self-powered and can be used in a series of spontaneous configurations. As a result, this family of floor lamps are a simple exercise of how to support the bulb in a vertical position.
