“Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country.” - Anaïs Nin
As children we used to build kites using cane, paper and glue we would make out of flour and water. We would simply tie a cane cross and frame it all around the points. We would then line it with paper that we would wrap around the frame and soak everything in glue. We would tie four pieces of string on each tip which would then join into one, the longest we could find. We would fly the kite with a mission to let it go as high as the length of string we had. And on a windy day we would go out and buy more string to join so that we would let it fly higher while one of us would hold it tight so we would not lose it. And there was a point we could no longer spot it in the sky as it had travelled so far. It was only during moments it would catch the sun and glow that we could tell it was still there.
