Italic is Anastassiades’ first collaboration with Carl Auböck, the historic Wiener Werkstätte workshop in Vienna. It is machined from a solid rod of brass or copper to house a quality ceramic mill, used to grind salt or pepper. The cylinder is cut at its base, allowing the object to sit at a slight angle, creating an interesting composition when used in a group.
